The Trip
Another epic kite trip to the beautiful Kenya coast
The Group
Since the first Kite Trip in 2018, around 120 riders from NYC Kiteboarding and the London Kitesurfers Association have joined these epic trips — a diverse mix of solo travellers, non-kiters, friends, partners, absolute beginners, and a great balance of male and female riders.
Each trip has delivered epic kitesurfing sessions, good wind, unforgettable wildlife safaris, and plenty of incredible food freshly prepared by our resident chef, all wrapped into that easygoing, beach-life rhythm.
The Safari (Tsavo East)
Included in the trip is a game safari to Tsavo East National Park — one of the largest and most iconic national parks in Kenya. We’ll be picked up early at 7am and head in for a one-night, two-day safari, with three game drives - back in time for a sunset kite session.
On past trips we’ve seen incredible wildlife up close, including elephants, lions, cheetahs, hippos, giraffes, zebras, and a huge variety of other animals and birdlife — proper safari magic between kite sessions.
The Spot
Diani Beach is a stunning, kitesurfing destination with smooth thermal winds, warm tropical waters, and endless white sand beaches — perfect for all levels from beginners to advanced riders looking to progress or play in the waves.
No wetsuit needed, just boardshorts and a kite, with reliable conditions that often suit 12m+ kites and, on windier days, smaller setups too.
Last season brought plenty of solid 20–22 knot sessions, plus a few 30+ knot days, all wrapped in a relaxed Indian Ocean vibe that keeps you riding all day.
